Beach

From wide sandy beaches near Denia and Oliva to small coves between the rocks.

The Costa Blanca offers a wide range of beaches. From Denia northwards the Costa Blanca consists of large wide sandy beaches, but to the south, as far as Benissa, you find small narrow beaches between the rocks. A useful overview of the sandy beaches (Les Marines) and the rocky beaches (Les Rotes) in Denia can be found here. Even more sandy beach can be found north of Denia, in Oliva.

Javea (Xabia)

The municipality of Javea (Xabia in Valencian) offers a bit of everything. First a pebble beach, by the harbour in the village itself (La Grava). Then, a little further south, a large sandy beach with all the entertainment you could want (El Arenal). And south of that the various bays such as Portixol and Granadella. Because those last ones are natural beaches you will have to make a little more effort to get there, and you certainly will not always be able to park on the level. 😉 A handy overview of all the beaches in Javea, with a great deal more information, can be found on the municipal website.

Moraira

In Moraira you will find, among others, a sandy beach right next to the promenade, Playa de l’Ampolla. And alongside it several other small beaches. For more information see here. Do bear in mind that it will be quite busy here in high season.

Benissa

The municipality of Benissa also has a few interesting bays. A path runs above the rocks from the very small Cala Pinets to the somewhat larger Cala de la Fustera. At Cala Fustera there is also a car park, a restaurant and canoe hire. Above Cala Fustera you will find a branch of the Benissa Tourist Info, and from there another path leads to Cala de les Bassasetes.
