A week-long fiesta twice a year
February: the almond blossom
Twice a year there is a week-long fiesta. The first is in February, when the almond trees are in blossom. All kinds of markets, walks and street fairs are organised then. The valley between Alcalalí, Jalón and Parcent turns pink and white and is one of the loveliest places to walk among the blossom.
Around 25 June: San Juan de Mosquera
Around 25 June the local saint, San Juan de Mosquera, is honoured. The whole village (foreigners included) then celebrates for a week. That means fireworks, a brass band parading through the village, and processions in which the saints are carried through the streets. But also eating together on the church square, and music every evening.

In summer there is regularly music on the village square.
